Statement of Faith

The Bible

The Old and New Testaments originally were verbally inspired by God without errors in the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek writings. (2Tim 3:16)
The King James version of the Bible in English is the Bible of choice and the basis for all Bible studies on this web page.

God

There is one God, outside time and space, who exists eternally in three co-equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Mat 28:19)

God, The Father

God, the Father, is an infinite Spirit (Psa 90:2 Joh 4:24) who is self-existent, eternal, and transcendent (outside time and space.) (Joh 5:26 Psa 147:5) His nature consists of holiness (perfection) Isa 5:16 Psa 60:6 Mat 5:48), and love (Joh 3:16 2Cor 13:11). He is immutable (unchanging) (Jam 1:17 Heb 6:17), omnipotent (all powerful) (Isa 40:25-26 Rev 19:6), omnipresent (everywhere present) (Psa 139:7-12), and omniscient (all knowing) (Psa 139:1-6 Isa 40:28 Rom 11:33).

God, The Son

The Lord Jesus was born of a virgin conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is, therefore, completely God and completely man, and the only mediator between God and man. He lived a sinless life, died a vicarious, atoning death shedding his blood on the cross for the sins of mankind. He rose from the dead bodily and ascended to the right hand of God. We look for His soon coming again. (Isa 7:14 Mat 1:18-25 1Tim 2:5 Phil 2:5-11 Heb 10:12 Joh 16:16)

God, The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts men of sin and indwells the person who believes in Jesus Christ. This indwelling regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for salvation and enables the believer to live a godly Christian life. (Joh 14:16-17 Joh 16:7-16)

Man

Man was created by God in his image. He is not the product of evolution. Through Adam, man fell into sin thereby gaining physical death and spiritual death (eternal separation from God). All humans are born with a sinful nature separated from God. All persons need redemption and salvation from sin through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (Gen 1:27 Rom 3:10-12,23 Rom 5:12 Eph 2:1-3)

Satan

Created by God to be a beautiful angel, in pride he presumed to be God and fell from eternal grace. Presently he is the enemy of God and of believers in Jesus Christ. He is called the god of this world system and seeks to destroy believing Christians. (Isa 14:12-15 Eze 28:12-17 2Cor 4:4 1Pet 5:8)

Salvation

Personal faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ that forgives sin is all that is necessary to have a personal relationship with God and inherit eternal life. Salvation is not by personal works but by the grace of God. All who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith as a personal savior are born again by the Spirit of God to become a new creation and inherit eternal life. Those who do not place their faith in Jesus Christ are not saved and do not inherit eternal life. The saved in Jesus Christ will be resurrected at the end of the age to eternal life. The unsaved will be resurrected at the end of the age to eternal condemnation. (Eph 2:8-10 Joh 1:11-13 Rom 10:9-10 1Cor 5:17 Joh 3:16-18)
