- The Doctrine of Angels and Satan
- God created the angels as a one-time separate creation sometime before the creation of this world and man.
- God created the angels with free will.
- God gave the angels various positions of authority and purpose.

- God says that these angels minister to and care for believers in Jesus Christ.
- Man is not to worship angels.
- Archangels have a high position of authority.

- Michael is the only angel mentioned as an archangel.
- Some think Gabriel is an archangel though the Bible does not give him that title.
- Cherubim angels

- These angels have the job of guarding the presence of God.

- These angels guard the righteousness of God.
- His Holiness must not be violated.

- Gods mercy must not be trampled upon.

- These angels are the closest to Gods presence.
- The angel Lucifer, son of the morning, was created to be a beautiful cherubim angel of brilliant light.
- He was gifted with music and wisdom.
- His job was to be close to Gods throne. His job was to guard Gods throne.

- The characteristics of Lucifer (Satan) from Ezekiel and Isaiah:

- Lucifer committed the first sin in the universe:
- His sin was pride. He presumed to be God.
- God judged him and he fell to earth from eternal grace in heaven.

- In his fall from grace he became the god of this world system.
- He currently has the title deed to this earth as the god of it, given to him by Adam in the garden of Eden. He has authority over the world system temporarily.
- He seeks to destroy Christ, the work of Christ, and those who follow Christ.
- He is behind the spiritual forces of evil nations in the world.
- One third of the angels fell in sin with Satan. Some of these are kept in chains waiting for a final judgment of angels after the millennial kingdom on earth.

- Even though Lucifer was cast out of heaven to become Satan, he still has access to the heavenly throne room of God.

- Satan accuses believers before God day and night.
- Job 1 tells us that Satan appeared before God to have a conversation with God about Job.

- In the middle of the tribulation period to come, God will again cast Satan out of heaven to the earth to indwell the Antichrist.
- He will have no more access to heaven after that.
- Read Rev 20:10
- At the end of the tribulation period Satan will be bound for a thousand years.
- After the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ, Satan will be released from his chains and thrown into the lake of fire that burns eternally.
Names and Titles of Satan

Lucifer | The original name of the beautiful cherubim angel that sinned against God and became Satan. His name means “light bearer” or “shining one” The name Lucifer was the Latin name for the planet Venus, the brightest object in the sky next to the sun and moon. |
