There is a rock that some people fallover. They stumble over it because they don’t want to obey even though they areappointed not to fall.

                        Jesus is the rock whose words causedisobedient people (non-believers) to stumble.

                        Believers are chosen not to fall butto minister as a priest to others and to praise Him.

Application:

I need tomake sure that I obey His Word and not stumble over things I know I should do. If Istumble over them, I am acting like a disobedient non-believer.

God’s love is matured in thebeliever who keeps God’s word. When that happens, it is obvious that we are inChrist.

Context:

We will know that we know Christpersonally if we keep His Word. If we are not obedient, we lie when we say we know Him.

            What thoughts dothe following verses add?

                        If we are in Him, we should walkdaily obeying His Word.

            I need to be more obedient in littlethings every day.

            “The grasswithers, the flower fades, but the Word our God shall stand forever.”

Grass and flowers come to full bloomand peak maturity, then they fade and die. God’s word is always fresh, fully matureand potent forever so that it can accomplish God’s purposes.

Context:

            What thoughts dothe preceeding verses add?

                        God’s going to smooth out andwork out all rough areas in our lives through the Holy Spirit.

            What thoughts dothe following verses add?

God has the victory in His word andwill come in strength to perform it, and to reward the faithful. That’s good news!

Do not doubt God’s Wordconcerning healing for my body, for He will accomplish it with His strength and not byanything I do nor by works!
